Last day in Colorado, Colorado Springs to Jacksonville

The last day of our trip we woke up in Colorado Springs (where we would be flying out of that night). The first thing we did was go to the Air Force Academy.

After walking around the Air Force Academy and watching the video (Sage decide she wanted to go there, because it has volleyball). We headed to Garden of the Gods. I was able to pick up two Earth caches: Kissing Camel and Balanced Rock.

We drove around the area awhile and then up over a big mountain looking for a waterfall called Helen Hunt falls. The road start out fine, but turned into a dirt road and it got a little scary in some places, it did not help when John said that we were very low on gas.






Finally, we headed for the airport. We decided to eat on the way. We "circled" the Co. Springs airport and found no food, so we headed further out. We were looking for something "local", but ended up at a Red Lobster. On the way into the airport I ask John to stop so I could take picture of a travel bug I had been caring around with me. Then we headed on to Texas and back to Jax. One funny thing happened on the plane. We stayed on the same plane for our lay over and so did one other family. We started talking to them and it turns out they were in a gift shop in RMNP at the same time we were and we talked to them while there. It also turn out we attend the same church.
