Guest Room
I decided to paint the guest room upstair with a Bohemian/ Bollywood theme. Some how the idea of an elephant on the slanted ceiling stuck in my head and with about 6 tries at getting the teal blue color right, I finally got one there. I am still working on the room, mostly I have a bunch of pillow to still make, but here are a few picture of the room so far.
The flash makes the room color look more orange (it is a darker orange in person)

Spring is here
Sage and I took a walk around the outside of the house tonight and took some picture of the yard.
The key lime tree is starting to come back. We were afraid for awhile that this winter might have killed it off. It has leaves in parts of it.

Not pumpkins
Well the vine outside the front door is not a pumpkin. It is some sort of gourd. I still think the vine came from a pumpkin seed from last year. I have picked 4 gourds so far and put them in a bowl in the kitchen. John wanted to pull the vine out of the ground, but I cleaned it up and am enjoying the interesting gourds.

future jack-o-lanterns
We have a pumpkin plant that has randomly decide to grow in my front flower bed. I am pretty sure that is wash into the flower bed from last year when we cut our pumpkins for halloween. At the beginning of the summer we notice about an 8 in long vine starting to grow. Well that vine is now about 40 feet long with more vines coming out of it in all directions. When I took these pictures about 10 days ago we had one pumpkin that was about 2 inches and growing, the next morning when I checked on it, it was covered in black fuzz and fell off the vine. Oh well. I did learn there are two different kinds of flowers on the pumpkin vine the female flowers have a beginning of a pumpkin at the bottom of them and the males do not (the male flowers only last one day.)

Sadly this pumpkin did not make it!

This vine is even longer now!!!

backyard trail
Now that it is winter the kids and John decide to cut a trail through the woods in the backyard to the "stream". I have gone back with them a few times, but today Topaz and I went back with the camera. Also several other neighbors have cut trails too. The neighbor to the one side of us has build a "bridge" like contraption that the kids and John used today to cross over the stream to explore the woods on the other side.
