Ms Kadi's Girls' Kamp Thursday

Thursday of kamp schedule:
  1. Glass magnet
  2. Chicken crescent rolls
  3. Taffy
  4. Soap play-dough
  5. Sew shirts
First thing this morning we made glass bead magnets.  The idea came from this website but we changed it to fit our needs.  We used glass bead found in the floral dept of JoAnn's and fabric scraps from the sewing project and few others laying around the house.  We started by laying the bead on the fabric until we had the perfect design underneath it.  We then traced around the bead and cut out the fabric inside our traced mark.  Next comes the messy part-we dipped our finger in the craft glue and rubbed the glue on the flat side of the bead with the glue.  Next we put the fabric face down on the glue and then rubbed more glue on the back of the fabric and on the sides to make sure everything stuck.  We left these to dry and later I added magnets to the back.

Thankfully Linda came back to help with the other 4 shirts.

Lunch was chicken crescent rolls:
  1. 1 lg can chicken
  2. 2 cans crescent rolls
  3. 1/2 package cream cheese
  4. diced onion (we used green onions)
mix chicken, cream cheese and onion in a bowl.  Open crescent rolls and place the 8 triangles on the cookie sheet.  Place a scoop of chicken mix on the crescents, top with the other can of crescent rolls.  Bake 350 until golden brown.

Then next activity was cloud dough.  It was really cool to watch the ivory soap grow in the microwave.  The next step was to add water and toilet paper.  I didn't understand what we were going for in the this part, but the girls played with this for a short time.  One thing you can not miss is that they all have personality-they are quite characters. The soap began to make a bunch of us sneeze so we finally threw it out.
