What are we going to do...

soccer has ended for the fall. We might actually have our weekends back and "time" to do homework on week nights. Of course basketball season will start in the near future.

Saturday started early with Clay's last game of the fall season. It was a game against the same team we had played the week before. This week we played 8 v 8, instead of 6 v 6, in prep for the spring season when we move up to the U11. Our boys (and 1 girl) looked much better then the week before, unfortunately we still lost 1-2.

Lucky, for us Sage's game was moved to 10, so it follow right after Clay's game. Our girl's looked much better and actually tied 4-4. The best we did all season. Sage's game then end with cupcakes and trophies.

Then in the late afternoon, we went to the Wentzel's house for the mid-year party for Clay's team.

Sage's Celebration

Sage decided for her birthday to go to Red Lobster (to eat chicken fingers) and the Jacksonville Symphony. Her Grandma Kay came up for the second weekend in a row, bring Opa with her. We opened birthday presents. Then the whole group went to dinner and then Opa went home while the rest of us went to see Beethoven's 5th. The Jacksonville symphony has this deal for $25 that the kids have a card now that get them into 15 more concert and they can take 2 people with them at $10 each. It was a nice night.

Eight is Great

Sage turned 8 today. It is crazy having two kids birthdays 5 days apart. I can't keep up with birthday parties and presents etc. Plus it is funny to talk to people about how many November babies there are. February is a cold month : )

Sage's exciting day, entailed going to school and taking a spelling test. They did sing "Happy Birthday" to her in music. After school she got to run errands. I did make her homemade meatball and spaghetti. She was having a temper tantrum during dinner though and cried though all of dinner. She finally did get to open two gifts from us and one from her Tia Cristina, Uncle Paul and cousin Lydia. She got a book about the symphony, a pair of earrings, and from her family in Atlanta she got every color Expo mark she could imagine. She is set to play school on her white board.

Double, double digits

Last night was daylight savings time, so most everyone was up early in our house. Mom and I finished cleaning up the inside, while John and the kids cleaned up most of the outside. My mom took off for home mid-morning, but she will be back next weekend for Sage's birthday. Christine got here around 12 with the cake and we were all set for Clay and Noah's co-birthday party. Around 12:30 we took off to UNF (University of North Florida) to meet up with the boys on Clay and Noah's soccer team to watch UNF play Belmont (from TN). We had 11 boys, 2 siblings, Gerrit, their soccer coach, and a bunch of parents show up for the party. The boys seemed to have blast watching the game in the beginning, yelling at the refs and the guys on the field. Then after a while they moved on to wandering the bleachers (which had about 75 other people in it). At half time our boys wandered out on to the field and kicked the balls around, until they got kicked off. About halfway through the second half we started getting cold, so we decided to go. Just as we stood to leave UNF scored. We came back to our place and played pool and wii (Clay got Mario Kart and Mario Strikers Charge). We ordered pizza and had cake. The 2 birthday boys opened presents after most everyone left. It has been an amazing 10 years!

making it to double digits

Today is Clay's 10th birthday! Last night he had a friend spend the night. They got up early this morning and played the wii. After his friend left he got to open a few presents from Opa and Kay-Kay. He got a new water bottle that does not leak for soccer, yu gi oh cards, and the 39 clues mystery book.

Then we had to get ready to leave for his soccer game. John and I went to Clay's game and Kay-Kay and Grandma Becky went to Sage's game. Clay's team lost 1-6.

After Clay's game we went to Sneaker for lunch with Noah's family for both boy's birthdays. Then we came home and opened the rest of Clay's presents. He got Mario Kart for the wii from us, so we all played that for awhile this afternoon.

After dinner we went to Dave and Buster and came home and had cake. Tomorrow is the birthday party!!!!

Happy Halloween

Friday was a busy day, I had a Halloween parade at school. I was not sure what I was going to wear still for a costume, so while I was showering, Sage laid out a purple shirt, pants, and fairy wings. I put glitter on my face and went as a fairy. I came home from school with red Elmo fur and yogurt all over my pants from the knees down--YUCK.

On Thursday at school Clay had, had a fall festival. They had researched all about pumpkins and a little about apples. Sage did not do anything for Halloween or fall in school.

My mom came up on Friday. We got the kids ready to trick or treat and quickly carved pumpkins. For dinner we had "mummy hot dogs".

One of Clay's best friends came over to trick or treat with us. His parents run a restaurant, so they were not going to be home. One of the other boys from down the street joined them and John took them all out. Sage went down the street and went out with the girls. Mom, Becky and I handed out candy. We sat out in the driveway, but it was pretty chilly. Then it started raining. We actually shut down pretty early. (I am missing a bunch of pictures on my mom's camera-to come soon)
