Sunday morning Ana Lia, Lola, Sage and I got up early and went to a park to start our fun day of geocaching. It was the 10 year anniversary of the opening up of the public use of the GPS. Here is an article How does a GPS work? that explains about GPSr.
And here is what Wikipedia explains about GEOCACHING: "Geocaching is similar to the 150-year-old game letterboxing, which uses clues and references to landmarks embedded in stories. Geocaching was conceived shortly after the removal of Selective Availability from GPS on May 1, 2000, because the improved accuracy[3] of the system allowed for a small container to be specifically placed and located. The first documented placement of a GPS-located cache took place on May 3, 2000, by Dave Ulmer of Beavercreek, Oregon.[4] The location was posted on the Usenet newsgroup sci.geo.satellite-nav[5] as 45°17.460′N 122°24.800′W. By May 6, 2000, it had been found twice and logged once (by Mike Teague of Vancouver, Washington). According to Dave Ulmer's message, the original stash was a black plastic bucket buried most of the way in the ground and contained software, videos, books, food, money, and a slingshot.[5]"

Our first event was the CITO (cache in, trash out) 10 year! Jax. We pick up our grocery bags and took off to cache. While walking around the park we also picked up trash.
Ana Lia signing her first cache log.Once the CITO was over we went directly into the 10 Years! Jacksonville Florida event (I really wanted to go to both of these as you got a special icon for attending these events.)

By the end of the event we were able to log 7 different icons on our geocaching page: November babies plus 1
