Horrible no good very bad day

Today started out fine-I helped out in the kids school. At the end of the day we took off for vision therapy. As we were headed down JTB over the intercostal bridge (the kids and I were singing at the top of our voices to The Killers) I noticed a weird noise. I told the kids I thought the tire had a problem. As soon as the bridge ended I pulled off and before I could come to a stop the tire blew (see picture below). One of my friends later in the day said "what did you do to God to make him mad." I told them that God was on my side-if God was not on my side than I would not have been pulling over before the tire blew. I called John and USAA to help. USAA said 40 minutes before anyone could come to help me change my tire. In the mean time a gentleman stopped and helped us change the tire. He was so kind and said that he would hope that someone would stop and help his wife and kids or his mom or sisters. During this time Clay stepped in an ant hill and his foot/leg was covered in them.

After we got the car down off the jack the spare tire was definitely flat. Becky had arrived and had the kids, we took her car to ACE and bought a can of the tire air. We got back to the car and had all kinds of trouble with the can. It leaked (the foam to fill of whole) all over me, then Becky and the tire. Once we somewhat put some air in the tire it took us forever to get the can off--with the foam coming back out of the tire.






I finally got back in the car and started driving down the shoulder. I didn't get 2 car lengths before I could tell the traction control kept kicking in and the car did not feel right. Becky finally guilded the car down the exit ramp and parked it in a parking lot. The kids were supposed to be at soccer in an hour, which was how long USAA said it would be to get us a tow truck. Becky took the kids to eat, while I waited. I was listening to the radio when suddenly it stopped. The tow truck showed up right after Becky and the kids got back with food (30 minutes after I made the call). He asked me to back the car up so he could get it hooked to his truck. I went to start it and the battery was dead. Finally the car was towed away--which was good because I couldn't image what else could go wrong. John stopped by the parking lot with the kids soccer clothes. Sage miss half her practice and Clay made all of his. I am exhausted.

Maybe I will move to Australia!

First Day of school 09-10

I can't believe it both my kids are in upper school now, 3rd and 5th grade. Clay has one more year until middle school. Clay is a technocat this year-the morning show at school. He has to wear the yellow belt to show that.

Week in Orlando

The kids and I spent the week in Orlando. Clay choose to go to Orlando magic basketball camp, while Sage returned to Sea World camp. Opa spent the week traveling up and down I-4 with Clay, they even got an autograph from from Nick Anderson. One of Sage's favorite parts of Sea World camp was petting a penguin, she also got to go on the flume ride this year.

Besides camp we enjoyed the week shopping for school clothes and supplies. John joined us at the end of the week to celebrate mom and dad's 43 wedding anniversary. And both kids got to try out mom and dad newly renovated bathroom.

U11 soccer schedule

last swim meet

The kids participated in swim team this summer. Although the nightly swim practice was great exercise for them. John and I decided we were not sure swim team was for us. One meet we went to on a Saturday started with warm up around 8 and lasted until after 1. John reasoning for not liking it was that in the 5+ hours we were there our children swam about 8 minutes each. I reasoning we the oppressive heat, while sitting around a pool with no shade.

Happy Birthday John

Sage made John Scooby Doo cookies for his birthday. We have been cleaning out the cupboards and pantries and found the Scooby cookie set. Sage made the Scooby cookies into Scoobies, pineapples, and fish.
