Cayman Island Hell and the hospital

Today start with the cruise ship removing James to the tender and taking him to the Cayman hospital, to be determine where or how he was going to have his hip surgery.

We got off the ship and rented a car. We then went to the hospital and checked on how James was doing.

After checking on James we drove out to the area on the island called "HELL" we mailed James and my Christmas cards. We also did several caches in the area. Then we headed back to the hospital.

We would spend the 3-4 hours at the hospital. Finally leaving James by himself in Cayman, but knowing he was going to pay his own way back to Huntsville to have surgery with his family around and with his dr. (It had been a crazy afternoon- everything from surgery in Cayman-with Becky staying, to surgery in Miami-my parents on call- to flying home). James did not get out until 10 am on Wed, but he did get back home and had 3 screws put in his hip and is starting PT. Insurance did help out with some of the trip.

After leaving James, Becky took the kids back to the ship to eat it was 2:30 and John and I went to a bar on the beach. I left John for a little while to walk to a couple caches near the port then came back to have a drink with him before having to catch the ferry back to the ship before 4:00.

Tonight we decided to order room service and hang out on our balcony. The kids were able to check themselves in and out of the kids programs which was really cool. They enjoyed doing many things in the kids area during the cruise.

Day at Sea (James' Demise)

Today was our day at sea. We started the day with breakfast. Then we decide to play soccer up on the sports deck. Sage and I stayed and played for about 30 minutes, but then she got bored. Not long after we left James got his feet caught up in the net between the 2 courts and fell and broke his hip. He was taken to the medical center on the ship.

Sage went to a princess meet and greet, she also found Alice in the lobby.

In the afternoon we took a break from visiting with James in the med center to make a gingerbread house. We took it down to James when we were done.

Key West at it's best

First thing Sunday morning was the character breakfast. The kids, John, James, and I got to eat in the dinning room while the characters pass from table to table signing books and taking pictures.

Leaving on a Disney Cruise

Saturday Dec. 13 we headed out to the scholastic book sale then on to the space coast to the Disney Magic cruise ship. We got our room cards, then were held in the holding area until we could board the ship. Here we met up with our first Disney character-Mickey. After boarding our rooms where not ready, so we were up to the pool deck and at lunch and interacted with a few more characters. Before dinner, the characters preformed a big show as we left port. Also, the whole ship was decorated for Christmas.
